XLEAVITTSBURG -- Kathryn Bascom, formerly of Leavittsburg, and Matthew Tallman, formerly of Warren, were married Oct. 11 at Northwood Farm.
The couple, who live at 2415 Belsite Drive, Belmont, N.C., were joined in marriage by the Rev. Patricia Wagner during a 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride, who is a daughter of Robert Bascom of Fairfax, Va., and the late Laurie Brown, was raised by her grandfather, Wade Bascom of Leavittsburg. She graduated from Kent State University and is a teacher at Bright Horizons Family Solutions in Charlotte, N.C.
Mr. Tallman holds a degree in psychology from the University of Illinois and is a pilot with Mesa Airlines in Charlotte. He is a son of Michael and Sharon Tallman of Elgin, Ill.
An ivory silk chiffon ensemble with off-the-shoulder medieval-style bell sleeves and an A-line skirt embellished with embroidery and beading was worn by the bride.
Matron of honor was Sheryl Yavorski, and bridesmaids were Lindsey and Dominique Bascom, the bride's sisters. They wore gowns of cranberry, sage and amethyst.
Chris Pichal performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were the groom's brothers, Mark and Mike Tallman. Ushers were the bride's brothers, Robert Jr. and Kyle Bascom, and her cousin, Christopher Clifford.
A reception took place at Northwood Farm, and the couple spent their honeymoon in Savannah, Ga.
