BANKING
WARREN -- First Place Financial Corp. has hired Michael J. Helon as vice president of private client services for First Place Bank, its chief subsidiary. Helon will work with the bank's more affluent clients, and his duties will also include new business development. He has more than 16 years experience in the financial-service industry.
WARREN -- Second National Bank has promoted Carol J. Reifler to administrative officer in the commercial-banking department. Riefler joined the bank in 1996 as an operations clerk and has held a succession of positions since then, most recently serving as department specialist in the commercial-banking department.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
BOARDMAN -- Julie Russo, a Boardman native, has joined Fahlgren Mortine Public Relations in Columbus as an account supervisor. A 1995 Boardman High School graduate, she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she served as an intern at The Vindicator. More recently, she served as a spokesperson and publications editor for the Ohio Department of Commerce, and had been a senior account executive and speech writer at PR21, a division of Edelman Public Relations in Chicago.
REAL ESTATE
CANFIELD -- Ray Courtwright has joined Mike Coman Realty in Canfield where he will specialize in farm and rural properties. A Sebring resident, he has four years of experience in real estate.
COMMUNICATIONS
LEETONIA -- Anthony E. Snyder, formerly of Leetonia, is managing editor of Fraternal Advantage, a new magazine to be published by the National Fraternal Congress of America, the Association of America's Fraternal Benefit Societies. Snyder is also director of fraternal communications for the NFCA.
Snyder got his first publication experience as a student at Leetonia High School, where he was editor of the yearbook in 1987-88. A 1988 Leetonia High graduate, he has a bachelor's degree in communications from Bowling Green State University. Before joining the NFCA in 1997 he was communications coordinator and assistant editor for the Slovene National Benefit Society. He lives in Naperville, Ill.
CALL CENTERS
BOARDMAN -- InfoCision Management Corp. has promoted Monica Brodigan to call center supervisor in the company's Boardman volunteer recruitment call center. The New Waterford resident joined InfoCision in 1999 as a communicator in the company's Austintown center and was later promoted to program supervisor.
