Dellarose to appearon national television
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State senior linebacker Justin Dellarose will be featured on The Football Network's "Football 101" Spike TV show on Saturday morning. The show airs on cable networks nationally.
Dellarose wore a microphone during the YSU-Western Kentucky game this past Saturday and will be part of a segment entitled "Star Sounds."
"Football 101" airs Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. WKU's Erik Dandy also wore a microphone during the game.

Boardman's Blandchooses Penn State
BOARDMAN -- Boardman High senior basketball player Amber Bland planned to sign with Penn State University today.
The 5-foot, 9-inch Bland also considered Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Arizona.
Bland, Boardman's career scoring leader, averaged 28 points per game as a junior, when she was named All-Ohio.

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel College senior tailback Justin Napotnik of Sharpsville, Pa., was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America football team. His school affiliation was incorrectly listed in Monday's edition.
Sarbaugh selectedas Scrappers manager
NILES -- The Mahoning Valley Scrappers named Mike Sarbaugh as their fourth manager in the past six years.
Sarbaugh spent the previous four seasons as a coach for the Double-A Akron Aeros.
He played six seasons of professional baseball, the last four as a member of the Cleveland Indians.
Chris Bando, who managed the Scrappers in 2002, will return next summer as a coach and Ken Rowe will be back as the pitching coach.
Last year's manager, Ted Kubiak, was named a minor league defensive coordinator for the Indians.
The Indians also said all four managers from the team's full-season minor league affiliates kept their jobs for another season.
Marty Brown will stay with AAA Buffalo; Brad Komminsk will remain with AA Akron; Torey Lovullo will stay at A Kinston, and Luis Rivera will remain with A Lake County.
In addition, longtime Indians broadcaster Rick Manning will be a part-time coach for the team.
The Indians announced Tuesday that Manning, who started his baseball career as a player in 1975 with Cleveland, will help coach baserunning and outfield play.
Boxing show
BUTLER, Pa. -- A Pro-Am boxing show will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Butler Cubs Hall, 113 South McCain St.
The nine-bout card is being co-promoted by Butler's Don Sponetti and Pat Nelson of Youngstown.
Nelson, the agent for both main event fighters, Butler's Brian Minto and Cleveland's Joe Lenhart, is also the matchmaker for the three pro bouts on the card. His father, Chuck Nelson, who once managed former cruiserweight world champion Jeff Lampkin, now manages super middleweight Anthony Pietrantonio.
Pietrantonio, ofSharon, had a standout amateur career for Frank West at the Buckeye Elks gym and since turning pro he is 2-0 with a knockout. He will be in a four-rounder with Butler's Billy Wolfe (1-0).
One of the nation's standout amateurs, Maxwell Taylor, a national champion from Baltimore, will be going for his second win in as many pro fights in a four-rounder.
Minto (8-0, 5 KOs) is labeled the "Butler Beast" and will be in a main event heavyweight six-rounder with Lenhart, "The Polish Giant."
Lenhart, at 6-foot, 6-inches, 310 pounds, is 11-22, but he has been in the ring with some of the top heavyweights in the world, recently losing to former top contender Michael Grant.
Sachire, Peharadvance in doubles
URBANA, Ill. -- Canfield's Ryan Sachire and teammate Mirko Pehar won a first-round doubles match during the United States Tennis Association Challenger of Champaign-Urbana.
During their match at the hard-indoor event Atkins Tennis Center on Tuesday, Pehar-Sachire defeated Kevin Kim and Cecil Mamiit, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
The Challenger Champaign-Urbana's overall purse is $50,000.
Three area playershighlight Malone team
CANTON -- The Malone College women's soccer team is going to the NAIA national tournament for the first time in the program's seven-year history.
Area players on the Malone team are Cardinal Mooney High graduate Adrienne Detesco, Poland graduate Taryn Carlson and Hubbard graduate Crystal Thiry.
The Pioneers competed in the NAIA Region IX Tournament last weekend, hosted by Houghton (N.Y.) College, and came away with two victories that earned the team the historic berth to the NAIA national event.
The NAIA national tournament will be held in Santa Barbara, Calif., beginning today through Nov. 25. The Pioneers headed to California with a 16-3-2 overall record (5-0-2 final mark in the AMC South).
Mount Union tickets
ALLIANCE -- NCAA Division III football playoff tickets went on sale today at the Hoover-Price Campus Center at Mount Union College.
The three-time defending national champion Purple Raiders (10-0) will meet this Saturday's Concordia, Wisconsin (9-1)-Wisconsin LaCrosse (9-1) winner Nov. 29.
