COLUMBUS Woman's killer faces jail term or death

The victim met the murderer in a bar.
COLUMBUS (AP) -- A man could get the death penalty for the shooting death of a woman whose body was found in the trunk of her burning car in Youngstown.
Sentencing for George Ware IV, 28, starts Monday in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
A jury convicted Ware on Wednesday of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, arson and abuse of a corpse in the death of Suzanne Dalton. He faces a minimum of 28 years in prison.
"Suzanne Dalton was the prey," special prosecutor Paul Scarsella said in his closing statement. "George Ware was the predator. She was stalked the same way a cheetah would stalk an antelope."
Dalton, 43, had gone with a friend to a bar on Dec. 8, 2002, where she was approached by Ware.
Dalton didn't know him, but a jailhouse informant testified that Ware told him he knew of Dalton and went to the bar to rob her. Dalton eventually left with Ware that night, apparently to give him a ride home.
Car found burning
Hours later, the car was found burning in Youngstown with Dalton's body in the trunk. Witnesses testified that Ware and a woman tried to use Dalton's credit card in a mall.
In Columbus, investigators tested concrete from Ware's driveway and found Dalton's blood beneath a coat of purple spray paint.
The jailhouse informant said Ware had gone through Dalton's purse, then shot her in the head. He was from Youngstown, so he drove there, then set the car on fire to destroy the evidence.
Ware had been paroled two months earlier after serving 8 1/2 years in prison for aggravated robbery, attempted bribery and other crimes committed in Mahoning County. He has spent almost his entire adult life behind bars.
