Trustees to pay $4,400 for sewer-line installation

NORTH LIMA -- Beaver Township trustees have agreed to pay Crawford Excavating $4,400 to install a sanitary sewer line at the pavilion in Woodworth Park.
At its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, the trustees also accepted the resignations of reserve police officer Jason Swanson, effective Nov. 6, and part-time dispatcher Andrew Smolko, effective Nov. 12. Both resigned for personal reasons, township officials said.
The trustees also hired Adam Treharne of Struthers and Danny Beniston of Salem as reserve police officers. Reserve officers are paid $1 a year. Treharne and Beniston, both full-time officers with the Springfield Township Police Department, have agreed to complete one month of training. Next month, trustees plan to consider promoting them to part time.
