Assault: A woman in the 40 block of Water Street reported her son was assaulted.
Criminal damage: An employee at Diane's Cut Away, 536 W. Liberty St., noticed someone had used a key to damage the finish on a man's vehicle.

Burglary: Police reported a burglary at a residence in the 50 block of Moore Street.

Theft: A West Liberty Street woman reported her purse stolen when she was at Dollar General, 886 W. Liberty St.
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 800 block of Moore Street reported finding two darts protruding from a decorative turkey she had in her front yard.

Nov. 12
Criminal damage: A man in the 10 block of Holly Drive alleged his father shot out the victim's truck's right front tire.
Theft: Someone took a $460 balance scale with weights and a cone from a company truck while it was parked at an Ohio Department of Transportation office, 1601 Motor Inn Drive.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 31-year-old Frederick Street man at his residence on a domestic-violence charge after his girlfriend alleged the man beat up her two sons, placed her and one of her children in a choke hold, and then threw them onto a bed while he was intoxicated.
Assault: A Girard boy said another boy, 14, slapped him in the face when the victim tried to intervene during a fight between two pupils at W.S. Guy Middle School, 4115 Shady Road.
Theft: A woman reported her purse was removed from her vehicle in the 4200 block of Logan Gate Road.

Auto theft: A 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen in the 500 block of East Liberty Street.
Criminal damage: A woman in the 200 block of Colonial Drive came home and discovered someone had cut open a screen on a door to her residence.
Criminal damage: Someone broke a car's door handle in the 70 block of Redfern Drive.
Theft: An employee at Denny's Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., reported a family left without paying a $57 food bill.
Theft: A woman in the 1400 block of Church Hill Road alleged a woman, 33, removed a $340 money order from her mailbox.

Theft: A bicycle was removed from the front porch to a residence in the 3700 block of Logan Way.
Burglary: Someone broke into a residence in the 3100 block of Hadley Avenue through a garage door and removed a videocassette recorder, two compact-disc racks with about 25 CDs and numerous credit cards.
Burglary: A man in his mid-20s to mid-30s reportedly kicked in the rear door to a residence in the 2900 block of Roosevelt Drive and took a DVD player, a karaoke machine, a VCR and a Sony PlayStation 2 game system.
Theft: An employee at Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, noticed a key to the school missing.
Forgery: Police arrested a 21-year-old woman at her West Montrose Avenue residence on a forgery charge.
Bad check: Police charged a 21-year-old Youngstown man with passing a bad check after an employee at Midwest Money Center, 642 Gypsy Lane, alleged the suspect presented and tried to cash a $4,000 bogus check.
Arrests: After determining a girl was intoxicated during a dance at Liberty High School, police arrested a 15-year-old Youngstown girl on charges of prohibitions of alcohol of minors and being a delinquent child. An 18-year-old Youngstown man was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and endangering a child.

Criminal damage: A vehicle's rear window was broken while the car was in a parking lot on Hadley Avenue.
Criminal damage: A man in the 3400 block of Ohio Trail alleged his former wife placed feces on his vehicle's windshield and used a key to damage the car's finish.
Attempted breaking and entering: A woman discovered damage to a door frame at her residence in the 1300 block of Mount Everett Road.
Theft: A woman reported her son's debit card stolen from his car she used while she was at Advance Auto Parts, 3179 Belmont Ave.
Arrest: Police arrested a 27-year-old Youngstown woman in Niles on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers say she admitted taking heroin and crack cocaine.

Attempted auto theft: Someone damaged the steering column to a 1986 Chevrolet Celebrity in the 50 block of Trumbull Court before trying to steal the car.
Theft: A woman reported her purse missing when she attended a wedding reception at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex, 1620 Motor Inn Drive.
Arrest: Police arrested a 39-year-old Youngstown woman on one count of failure to appear in court to face a contempt of court charge.
Criminal mischief: An employee at Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, 130 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, reported placards containing listings were removed from their posts and found on the ground at various locations in the township.

Breaking and entering: A man in his mid-30s reportedly used a screwdriver to pry open a door and break into Plaza Donuts, 3437 Belmont Ave. An undetermined amount of money was taken.
Criminal damage: A Lima, Ohio, woman returned to her former residence in the 3400 block of Ohio Trail and discovered damage to a large-screen TV and surround-sound system she owns.
Theft: A 25-year-old woman reportedly used an extension cord to illegally supply $50 worth of electrical service to her apartment in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
Arrest: Police arrested a 32-year-old Youngstown woman at a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave., on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and theft.
Nov. 18
Arrest: After police stopped his vehicle on state Route 193 for having expired license plates, police charged a 49-year-old Youngstown man with carrying a concealed weapon, illegal possession of weapons, driving under the influence of alcohol and having fictitious plates. Police say they found a loaded .22-caliber firearm in the vehicle's center console, as well as three open containers of alcohol in the car.

Nov. 16
Recovered property: Police recovered a Pontiac Grand Am, stolen in Boardman, in the Mahoning Country Club Inc. parking lot, 710 E. Liberty St.
Criminal damage: A man reported his vehicle's front windshield smashed and its right front tire slashed in the 300 block of East Prospect Street.
Nov. 17
Recovered property: Police recovered an abandoned pickup truck, possibly stolen, in the Sharp Lumber Co. parking lot, 1900 S. State St.
Vandalism: A man reported various damage to a piece of property on River Street, including lawn damage, some signs shot and fence posts torn out.
