NFL ROUNDUP News and notes

Texans: Quarterback David Carr will miss at least one game and perhaps more with a sprained right shoulder. Veteran Tony Banks will get his second start of the season Sunday against New England. An MRI revealed David has a sprain of the AC joint, coach Dom Capers said Monday, referring to the point where the shoulder meets the collarbone.
Also, cornerback Marcus Coleman, who along with injured linebacker Antwan Peek was suspended without pay for Sunday's win at Buffalo because of unspecified team violations, apologized Monday. Peek was out anyway with a dislocated toe on his left foot, but Coleman had started each of the previous 25 games in franchise history. Coach Dom Capers said the two were fully reinstated Monday, although Peek will miss Wednesday's practice as he continues to heal.
Lions: Wide receiver Scotty Anderson was placed on injured reserve Monday. Anderson, who leads the Lions with 325 yards receiving, sustained a high ankle sprain in Sunday's 35-14 loss in Seattle, and was undergoing tests to determine if he would need surgery. Lions coach Steve Mariucci said it was a "strong possibility" rookie wide receiver David Kircus would be activated off the practice squad. The sixth-round draft pick had a record-setting career at Division II Grand Valley State.
Titans: Defensive end Jevon Kearse has a high sprain of his left ankle, which is good news because he heard clicking in the joint after being hurt. The MRI showed no damage to the joint, and coach Jeff Fisher said Kearse traditionally has been a quick healer with such injuries. Linebacker Keith Bulluck suffered a mild concussion, and Fisher said defensive tackle Robaire Smith also had a concussion after someone stepped on his head. Safety Lance Schulters had some swelling in one of his knees, but Fisher said it was not a problem.
Chargers: Wide receiver Tim Dwight remained hospitalized in Denver on Monday with a partially collapsed lung sustained Sunday. Coach Marty Schottenheimer said Dwight is expected to return to San Diego on Wednesday. Also, safety Kwamie Lassiter sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
Rams: Defensive end Leonard Little likely will miss his fourth straight game this week at Arizona with a torn chest muscle. The Rams are being very careful with their best pass rusher, who has seven sacks, because coach Mike Martz said if he reinjures the chest he'll miss the rest of the season. Tyoka Jackson has started at defensive end in place of Little. Defensive tackle Damione Lewis also is likely to miss his fourth straight game with a high ankle sprain.
Jaguars: Fred Taylor underwent tests on both knees Monday after twisting one and getting hit on the other in Sunday's loss to Tennessee. Taylor sat out most of the fourth quarter and he was not in the game during the final drive, which ended on downs at the Tennessee 2. Coach Jack Del Rio said the running back's injuries were not serious, but Taylor said he doubted he could practice by Wednesday. Taylor has run for 800 yards this season and leads the team with 38 receptions.
Broncos: Rookie linebacker Terry Pierce was placed on injured reserve with a torn chest muscle. Pierce, a second-round draft pick, injured his pectoral muscle while covering a punt in Sunday's 38-7 win over San Diego. Coach Mike Shanahan said the recovery time would be six or seven weeks, so the team decided to shelve him for the season.
Packers: Quarterback Brett Favre had a sore right thumb one day after a victory in Tampa Bay but shouldn't miss any games. Favre banged the thumb in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 20-13 win over the Bucs. He was in obvious pain, but not in jeopardy of having to come out.
Jets: Safety Jon McGraw will miss the rest of the season after reinjuring his right shoulder against the Colts. McGraw played for the first time in a month Sunday after sitting out four games with a partially dislocated shoulder. But he reinjured the shoulder in the 38-31 loss and was placed on injured reserve Monday. Coach Herman Edwards said McGraw will have surgery Friday. The Jets activated tackle Josh Evans.
Bills: Running back Travis Henry hopes he won't miss any time after he cracked a bone in his lower right leg but kept playing in Sunday's loss to Houston. Henry was wearing a protective boot Monday but was walking without a limp, and his condition will be monitored throughout the week.
