GOLF ROUNDUP South Africa team captures World Cup by four strokes

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- South Africa's Trevor Immelman and Rory Sabbatini combined to shoot a 1-over-par 73 Sunday for a four-stroke victory at the World Cup.
Immelman and Sabbatini finished at 13-under 275 and gave South Africa its second World Cup title in three years and fifth overall.
The U.S. team of Jim Furyk and Justin Leonard was in contention until going bogey-triple bogey at Nos. 12 and 13. The Americans shot a 3-over 75 and finished in a tie with Padraig Harrington and Paul McGinley for fifth at 4-under 284.
Paul Casey and Justin Rose made a charge for the lead and shot a 5-under 67, finishing second at 9-under 279.
LPGA
MOBILE, Ala. -- Dorothy Delasin rolled in an 8-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat Korea's Hee-Wan Han at the Tournament of Champions.
Delasin posted a final-round 69 and Han shot a 68, including a back-nine 32 to tie Delasin at 8-under-par 280. Laura Davies also made a final-round charge, shooting a tournament-best 65 that left her one shot out of the playoff at 7-under 281.
With the victory at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Course, Delasin qualified for next week's season-ending ADT Tour Championship. She needed to finish fifth or better to jump from No. 33 on the LPGA money list to the top 30.
Tiger Skins
SINGAPORE -- Retief Goosen defeated Annika Sorenstam to win the exhibition event.
Goosen captured 10 skins worth $110,000 on the par-5, 563-yard 15th hole after his wedge shot from 40 yards spun back to 3 feet for a birdie. He took home another $15,000 on the par-4, 404-yard 17th.
On Saturday, Goosen won $5,000 on the opening hole for a total of $130,000 of the $180,000 at stake.
Sorenstam took one skin Sunday on the 359-yard 16th for a two-day total of $35,000 and five skins.
The other two players in the event were five-time PGA Tour winner Jesper Parnevik and local player Lam Chih Bing, who won the par-4 18th with a 36-foot downhill putt to take the final $15,000 skin.
Shark Shootout
NAPLES, Fla. -- Hank Kuehne rolled in a 4-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole, giving him and partner Jeff Sluman the title.
Kuehne and Sluman won a three-way playoff that included PGA champion Shaun Micheel and Tour Championship winner Chad Campbell, and Brad Faxon and Scott McCarron.
Faxon and McCarron missed birdie putts on the 18th hole, forcing the three-way playoff as the groups finished tied at 23-under-par 193 in the scramble format. But the Faxon-McCarron team was eliminated on the first extra hole after McCarron hit his second shot into the water.
The teams played best ball on the second playoff hole. Kuehne hit a 332-yard drive and then hit sand wedge to 4 feet, setting up the winning putt.
Micheel and Campbell eagled the 17th and made birdie at No. 18 to get into the playoff. Both missed long birdie putts on the second playoff hole.
Taiheiyo Masters
GOTEMBA, Japan -- British Open champion Ben Curtis was runner-up, finishing six strokes behind winner Kiyoshi Murota.
Curtis closed with a 1-over-par 73 for a total of 10-under 278. He shared second with Japan's Hiroyuki Fujita and South Korea's Kim Jong-duk.
