UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Garth Snow stopped 28 shots and Oleg Kvasha, Mark Parrish and Jason Blake scored for New York, 7-2 at home. The Islanders are have a five-game home unbeaten streak against the Canadiens (4-0-1). Andreas Dackell scored the only goal for Montreal, and Jose Theodore made 23 saves.
Hurricanes 5, Thrashers 1
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Erik Cole scored 26 seconds in, and Josef Vasicek and Rod Brind'Amour added key power-play goals to lead Carolina. Carolina extended its home unbeaten streak to four (3-0-1). Ron Francis added Carolina's third power-play goal with 5:52 left on a two-man advantage. Kevyn Adams rounded out the scoring two minutes later. Atlanta, off to its best start, fell to 2-5-1 in its last eight. Ilya Kovalchuk, the NHL's leading goal scorer with 13, was held without a point in consecutive games for the first time this season.
Flyers 4, Canucks 3, OT
PHILADELPHIA -- Simon Gagne scored 1:47 into overtime to lift Philadelphia to its fifth straight victory. Eric Desjardins, Michal Handzus and Mark Recchi also scored for Philadelphia, unbeaten at home (6-0-2). Todd Bertuzzi scored with 7.2 seconds remaining in regulation. Jason King and Matt Cooke also scored for Vancouver.
Devils 3, Panthers 1
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Patrik Elias scored on a power play to kick off a three-goal second period, and New Jersey extended its unbeaten streak to eight. Brian Gionta and Jay Pandolfo also scored for the Devils (6-0-2). Martin Brodeur made 20 saves. Stephen Weiss scored for Florida, 1-1 since general manager Rick Dudley took over for Mike Keenan as coach. Roberto Luongo made 26 saves for Florida.
Oilers 2, Wild 0
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Edmonton's Ty Conklin made 22 saves to record his first career shutout. Now in their fourth NHL season, the Wild are still winless in regulation against the Oilers (0-12-2-2). The Oilers finished their longest road trip of the season 3-2-1. Edmonton needed just 74 seconds to take a 1-0 lead, when Ethan Moreau scored. Mike York poked the rebound of Radek Dvorak's shot in to make it 2-0.
Predators 4, Flames 1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Vladimir Orszagh scored the decisive goal, David Legwand had a goal and an assist and Tomas Vokoun stopped 29 shots in helping Nashville beat Calgary, which has lost six of seven in Nashville. Calgary couldn't score after Toni Lydman gave them a 1-0 lead. Marek Zidlicky, and Adam Hall also scored for the Predators.
Coyotes 3, Avalanche 2, OT
PHOENIX -- Branko Radivojevic scored 1:51 into overtime, capping a frantic rally for Phoenix. Brian Savage and Ladislav Nagy also scored for Phoenix, which trailed 2-0 going into the third period. Sean Burke made 27 saves for the Coyotes, who have won twice and lost once in overtime since going 0-6-3 in a nine-game stretch. Joe Sakic had a goal and assisted on one by Rob Blake.
Maple Leafs 4, Kings 4
LOS ANGELES -- Owen Nolan scored on a power play with 3:31 remaining in regulation, capping a three-goal third period for Toronto. Mikael Renberg, Gary Roberts and Alexander Mogilny also scored for the Leafs, who fell behind 4-1 on Derek Armstrong's power-play goal with 53 seconds remaining in the second period. Mats Sundin and Tomas Kaberle each had two assists, helping postpone Roman Cechmanek's 100th NHL victory. Alexander Frolov had two goals and an assist for Los Angeles and Luc Robitaille had a goal and an assist. Ziggy Palffy had two assists for the Kings.
Blues 4, Sharks 3, OT
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Marco Sturm scored two of San Jose's three goals in 45 seconds during the third period, but Petr Cajanek got a breakaway goal with 14.8 seconds remaining in overtime. The Blues earned their fourth straight win and ninth in 11 games in San Jose. St. Louis led 3-0 with 10 1/2 minutes to go in regulation when Sturm set a franchise record with two goals in 20 seconds. Mike Ricci's deflection goal with 9:45 remaining in the third capped the rally. Murray Baron scored his first goal in 47 games for the Blues, and Dallas Drake and Mike Danton scored third-period goals.
