HERMITAGE City businessman will be marshal of holiday parade
The honor goes to someone noted for community service.
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- City businessman Robert Jazwinski will reign over the sixth annual Hermitage Holiday Light Parade.
The job of parade marshal for the annual event, which kicks off the holiday season, goes to someone with a record of community service.
The parade is set for 6 p.m. Saturday and will form in the Kerrwood Drive area, move east on State Street, then north of Pa. Route 18 to the Shenango Valley Mall entrance.

Jazwinski, head of Jazwinski Financial Services and a former city commissioner, serves as an F.H. Buhl trustee and is vice chairman of the Sharon Regional Health System board of directors. He's executive vice president of the Shenango Valley Foundation, a city representative on the Shenango Valley intergovernmental Study Committee, a director of Penn-Northwest Development Corp., a director of the local branch of the Pennsylvania Economy League and is active in Notre Dame Church and a number of other organizations.
The parade sponsors a friendly competition in various categories for marching units and floats, handing out cash prizes and other awards to the best performances and best floats.
Organizers have secured nearly $9,000 in donations to fund the event, with $4,000 of that coming from the city and the rest from more than 20 businesses and organizations.
This year's parade will feature three marching bands, more than 30 floats, a half dozen marching units, firetrucks and even a horse unit from the Trumbull County Mounted Deputies.
Parade awards will be handed out immediately after the event in Hermitage Middle School.
