YOUNGSTOWN -- The 18th annual Community Interfaith Prayer Breakfast of the Mahoning Valley Association of Churches will be at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 2 at the ITAM Catering Service, 115 S. Meridian Road, with the theme, "Live Wisely, Live Well."
Dr. Shelvan T. Arunan, pastor of both the Boardman and Howland Seventh-day Adventist Churches, will speak. He's a native of Sri Lanka and former Hindu who, at age 13, converted to Christianity and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Church growth event
YOUNGSTOWN -- Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., will have its annual Church Growth Conference from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
This year's theme is "Rekindling the Fire of Faith." Topics include spiritual gifts, stewardship and how to walk with God. The cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
Concert scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN -- King's Dominion Concert Choir with G2 of Christ Church Anointed Ministries, Leavenworth, Kan., will perform at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 505 Parkcliffe Ave.
CD remix issued
CANFIELD -- Musician Dr. Marsha Long has issued a remix of her CD of "Ave Maria: The Universal and Timeless Hymn," in which she performed the hymn in 14 languages and played 16 instruments. Long, who has a doctorate in music, said the enhanced CD offers a new song, "Vocalise," for soprano, harp and wind chimes. Additionally, some of the music has been changed with more harmonies and new endings. The recording is available from Alba House Communication in Canfield at (800) 533-ALBA, or at Amazon.com.
She plans to record a Christmas CD at New York University's chapel at 8 p.m. Dec. 11. Long said it would be the same type of international music, with instruments and arrangements that span from the time of Christ to medieval carols to traditional favorites. Visit www.marshalong.com.
Dialogue dates set
BOARDMAN -- The Jewish/Christian Dialogue 2004/5764 will examine two topics at two locations.
At 2:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and Dec. 9 and 23 at Temple Ohev Tzedek, 5245 Glenwood Ave., Rabbi Joel Berman and the Rev. George Balasko will present "Understanding & amp; Praying the Psalms."
The Dialogue North will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 and 17 and Jan. 7 and 21 at Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Way, Liberty, with the theme "An Introduction to Jewish/Christian Dialogue." Pastor to speak
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Dr. Charles Yoost will deliver the sermon at 10:45 a.m. Sunday as part of the bicentennial celebration at Trinity United Methodist Church, 30 W. Front St. The Rev. Dr. Yoost is senior pastor at Church of the Savior, Cleveland Heights; served as Mansfield district superintendent from 1992 to 1998; and was pastor of Church Hill United Methodist Church from 1984 to 1992. In 2004, he will stand for election as bishop of the Pittsburgh Conference.
Author to speak
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dr. Henry Cloud, author of "Boundaries," will take part in a satellite program from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. next Saturday at two locations.
He will take part in "Boundaries Face to Face" at Christ Church Presbyterian, 1933 Canfield Road. Pre-registration is requested; call (330) 782-2611. STRUTHERS -- The Midlothian Ministerial Association will have a Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Nov. 24 in Struthers Presbyterian Church, 110 Poland Ave.
