Mass for fallen officers
SHARON, Pa. -- City police and firefighters are hosting a "Blue Mass" for fallen comrades at 8 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Church, East State Street at Case Avenue. The Mass will be followed by a coffee and doughnut breakfast. Police and fire departments from western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio have been invited to attend in uniform and fire departments are encouraged to bring firetrucks to the church.
Pancake breakfast
LISBON -- The Lisbon Ruritan Club will have an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at David Anderson High School. Sausage gravy and biscuits, coffee, orange juice and milk will also be available. Tickets are $5 per person, $2.50 for children 11 and younger. Proceeds benefit the Ruritans' Floyd Lower-Lynn Leggett Scholarship Fund.
Trustees to meet
BOARDMAN -- Township trustees will meet in special closed-door session at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the township government center on Market Street to discuss firefighter staffing and personnel issues with members of the local firefighters union. A streetlight hearing is set for 6:45 p.m. that day, and the board's regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
