Judge limits picket numbers at Astro Shapes

THE VINDICATOR
STRUTHERS -- The union that is striking Astro Shapes has been prevented from mass picketing.
Judge Maureen Cronin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court issued an order limiting to four the number of pickets at each company entrance.
The order also says Local 9401 of the United Steelworkers of America is prevented from blocking entrances and exits or interfering with deliveries and shipments.
Since the strike began last week, pickets have impeded people from entering the plant and have threatened to hurt them, the order says.
It adds that to protect pickets, vehicles should not exceed 10 mph.
The union and the aluminum extruder have been unable to reach a new labor contract.
