Family gathering held to honor Mikula jubilee

XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Mikula, 540 Moherman Ave., were guests of honor during a family get-together Oct. 19 at the Holiday Inn South in Boardman for the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the honorees' children and their spouses, Mark and Linda Mikula of Austintown and Christine and Thomas Madorno of Boardman.
The former Mary Louise Esposito and Mr. Mikula were married Oct. 17, 1953, at St. Patrick Church.
The couple are members of Holy Name of Jesus Church.
Mrs. Mikula is a homemaker.
Retiring in 1984, Mr. Mikula was a detective with Youngstown Police Department. He is a member of Fraternal Order of Police, Police and Fire Retirees of Ohio, Catholic War Veterans Post 1291, Sam Camens Center and Slovak Catholic Sokols. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-54.
The family circle includes four grandchildren.
