YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State senior Annie Buschur slammed a career-high 20 kills and added 11 blocks to lead the Penguin volleyball team (10-17) past Robert Morris (19-11), 30-26, 25-30, 30-16, 24-30, 15-8, on Tuesday at Beeghly Center.
The loss snaps Robert Morris' nine-match winning streak.
After two games, Buschur had seven kills but also collected seven hitting errors. Throughout the rest of the match, the 6-foot middle hitter buried 13 kills, with just two hitting errors for a .611 hitting percentage.
The Penguins totaled four players reaching double figures. Junior Melanie Pounders recorded 17 kills with six blocks, while freshman Cari Leslie and senior Colleen Royer added 15 and 14 kills, respectively. Leslie and Royer also notched double-doubles with 18 and 19 digs, respectively.
Junior Dana Juhnke collected a career-high 20 digs, and sophomore Angie Pasquinelli dished out 40 assists.
The Penguins hit poorly in games one and two, .153 and .041, but turned up the offensive production with a .559 hitting percentage in game three, .190 in game four and .400 in game five.
YSU concludes its regular season against Cleveland State on Friday at 7 p.m. in Beeghly Center.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Penguin Playbook Men's Basketball Radio Show with Youngstown State coach John Robic will begin Nov. 18 on WNIO-AM (1390).
The host of the show will be Penguin play-by-play announcer Robb Schmidt and will air 13 times.

Ursuline High senior basketball player Courtney Davidson will sign a letter of intent Thursday to play at Michigan State, the Irish athletic department announced.
West Branch High senior Ashley Armstrong was planning to sign today with Dayton, coach Chuck Campbell said.

Pro Football HOFhonors veterans
CANTON -- The Pro Football Hall of Fame will observe its fourth-annual "Salute to Veterans" day on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
As part of the all-day celebration, each U.S. military veteran and guest will be admitted free of charge to the NFL Hall of Fame.
Each of the first 1,500 visitors will receive a specially-created commemorative pin featuring the American flag and the Hall of Fame logo.
A special Salute to Veterans will be held in the NFL Films Theatre starting at 10 a.m. Guest speaker will be Steve Belichick, former U.S. Naval Academy football coach and a World War II veteran, and the father of Bill Belichick, New England Patriots coach.
Following Steve Belichick's remarks, an award-winning film by NFL Films entitled "Football and America" will be shown.

Astros ink Miceli
HOUSTON -- Right-hander Dan Miceli became the first of the 210 free agents to sign, agreeing to a $600,000, one-year contract with the Houston Astros.
Anderson suspended
DENVER -- Broncos fullback Mike Anderson was suspended for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Anderson will lose about $317,000 of his $1.35 million salary and won't be eligible to return until after Denver's Dec. 8 game against Kansas City, the league said. The NFL did not detail the violation.
Anderson told The Denver Post he tested positive for marijuana, but said he only inhaled secondhand smoke. He said he presented such evidence from a toxicologist in an appeal to the NFL.
Robinson groundedon way to Ohio
TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Former NBA star David Robinson's flight to Ohio made an emergency landing at Texarkana Regional Airport after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.
Robinson, his manager and a flight crew of three were not injured, airport manager Steve Luebbert said. Robinson was on his way to Cincinnati for a speaking engagement.
Manchester Unitedplans return to U.S.
NEW YORK -- English Premier League champion Manchester United will return to the United States for another preseason tour in late July or early August.
United, which features American goalkeeper Tim Howard, will play at Soldier Field in Chicago and Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The site of the third game has not been finalized.
Taurasi, Beard earnpreseason honors
Connecticut's Diana Taurasi and Duke's Alana Beard were unanimous selections for The Associated Press' preseason women's All-America team. Their names appeared on all 47 ballots from the national media panel voting in the weekly AP poll. Also chosen were Kansas State's Nicole Ohlde, Penn State's Kelly Mazzante and Stanford's Nicole Powell.
