hFacing space challenge?Lowell has suggestions
Christopher Lowell has long preached to his viewers that small rooms don't have to come up short on either panache or utility. Now he proves the point with his latest book, "Christopher Lowell's You Can Do It! Small Spaces."
Lowell, host of the Discovery Channel's "The Christopher Lowell Show," built the book around the decorating project his team undertook on two prefabricated homes. In his foreword, Lowell refers to the houses as "architecturally challenged," with such features as off-center fireplaces and underscaled windows in addition to rooms with Lilliputian proportions.
The book documents the entire process of decorating both homes, from concept sketches to finished rooms. Plenty of the inexpensive, build-it-yourself architectural features that are Lowell's trademark are included.
"Christopher Lowell's You Can Do It! Small Spaces" is published by Clarkson Potter and sells for $29.95.
