Botanical Name: Geranium "Dilys."

Botanical Name: Geranium "Dilys."
Attributes: Geranium "Dilys" is a nearly ever blooming, hardy geranium that blooms over a long period of time, right up until a hard freeze. The tidy, trailing plant thrived during the past two summers of heat and drought (with supplemental watering). The foliage remains clean and healthy through the summer as a perfect foil to the flowers that just keep on coming.
Bloom Color: Pinkish purple.
Bloom Time: Summer through fall.
Culture: Plant in spring and fall or be prepared to carefully water summer-planted geraniums. This plant performs admirably in well-drained, average garden soil but does benefit from soil amended with compost or other organic matter. Plant it in full sun or part shade for optimal flowering.
Landscaping Tips: This low, long-blooming perennial works well for the front of the perennial border or along a garden walk. Because of its dense, trailing nature, it can also be used as a deciduous ground cover. Its brilliant flowers work well with other cool colored, flowering plants like other hardy geraniums, poppy mallows, garden phlox, blazingstars, butterflybush, asters, chrysanthemums and various sedums.
Cost: Available in quart-sized pots for about $7 or in gallon-sized pots for about $9.
