RALEIGH, N.C. -- Marty Murray scored his first goal in a Carolina uniform and goaltender Jamie Storr held off Tampa Bay in overtime. Tampa Bay was outshot 38-22 in regulation. The Lightning had a 4-1 shot advantage in overtime but couldn't beat Storr. Lightning goalie John Grahame was more than solid subbing for Nikolai Khabibulin, who was given a day off. Carolina carried the play in the first period with 16 shots, but fell behind 1-0 with two minutes left when Cory Stillman converted on the game's first power-play.
Avalanche 4, Blackhawks 3, OT
CHICAGO -- Steve Konowalchuk scored his second goal of the game on a deflection with 5.5 seconds remaining in overtime to give Colorado the victory. Konowalchuk scored on a mid-air deflection with 8:44 remaining in the third period to tie it at 3. He has five points in three games with the Avalanche since being acquired from Washington on Oct. 23. Colorado's Alex Tanguay also scored in the third period to help the Avalanche rally from a 3-1 deficit. Milan Hejduk scored in the first period for Colorado, undefeated in four games (3-0-1). Tyler Arnason, Nathan Dempsey and Steve Poapst scored in the second period for the Blackhawks, whose three-game winning streak ended. Chicago is 5-1-3-1 in its last 10 games.
Mighty Ducks 2, Coyotes 1, OT
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Petr Sykora scored 3:43 into overtime and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 27 saves for Anaheim. Steve Rucchin scored a short-handed goal for the Ducks, who returned from a six-game road trip that ended with overtime losses at St. Louis and Phoenix. Giguere, last season's playoff MVP, improved to 2-8. His only other victory also came in overtime, Oct. 22 against Philadelphia. Ladislav Nagy, who had two goals against the Ducks in Saturday's win at Phoenix, tied it for the Coyotes at 18:34 of the second.
