Crashes claim lives of 2 men in Hermitage
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Police said two men died in separate weekend crashes in the city.
Nicklos J. Colatarci, 21, of R.D. 1, Pulaski, died when the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee he was driving south on Pa. Route 18 went left of center and off the road around 2:50 a.m. Saturday.
Police said a witness told them the Jeep was speeding.
It sideswiped a telephone pole and slammed head-on into a tree, police said.
Colatarci wasn't wearing a seat belt. Dr. Charles Zeigler, Mercer County deputy coroner, pronounced him dead at the scene.
Robert Sinkovich, 31, of R.D. 1, New Wilmington, died when his 2001 Chevy Impala went left of center and ran off Maple Drive shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday.
Sinkovich was southbound on Maple at the time. His car rolled over several times, throwing him out. He wasn't wearing a seat belt and was found lying near the vehicle, police said.
Zeigler also pronounced him dead at the scene.
