SOCCER Chagrin Falls is blanked



Dublin Coffman and Bay Village Bay won girls crowns.
COLUMBUS (AP) -- Max Stan and Jeremy Fox each had a goal and assist to lead Columbus Bexley to a 4-0 victory over Chagrin Falls in the boys Division II state high school soccer championship on Saturday.
Stan scored in the fourth minute and assisted on Dante Brunetto's goal in the 78th minute for the Lions (22-1).
Fox scored in the 30th minute and assisted on Josh Thaboune's goal in the 14th minute. It is Bexley's first soccer championship. The Tigers finish 15-7-1.
Girls
Lindy Slinger scored a second-half goal as Dublin Coffman beat defending champion Strongsville 1-0 to win its second Div. I state soccer final.
The Shamrocks (23-0-1) went undefeated and handed Strongsville (21-1-1) their only loss of the season. Dublin Coffman also won a state title in 2001.
Kelly Quinn started the scoring play with a pass to Alyssa Brown from midfield. Brown played a through-ball into the right side of the penalty area to Slinger. Slinger then sent a 12-yard shot past onrushing goalkeeper Michelle Neff into the left side netting in the 57th minute.
Div. II
Bryn Heinicke had two goals and Bay Village Bay beat Cincinnati Indian Hill 5-1 to win its second straight championship.
Natty Naso had a goal and an assist for the Rockets (19-4-0) which also won the state title in 1999.
Heinicke collected a loose ball in the box and scored from 7 yards out in the 47th minute. She took a pass from Naso at the top of the penalty area and scored on a right-footed shot from 15 feet out in 74th minute.
