COLUMBIANA CORNER East Palestine hall inductees are chosen
An East Palestine schools committee has chosen the third class of inductees to the district's Distinguished Hall of Fame.
Hall of fame members can be district alumni, former employees, or others who impacted the school district and the community, Superintendent Jeff Richardson said.
The new class of inductees will be honored at a basketball game and a luncheon in February.
Elected for 2004 are:
UBill Davis, a 1960 graduate of East Palestine High. Davis has been taking photographs of school and community events since he was a student.
UJudi Gregory, a 1964 graduate of East Palestine High. Gregory was selected to be in the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame. She won more than 500 games as a head volleyball coach at Crestview.
UDavid Guy, a 1962 graduate of East Palestine High. He was an educator and principal in the school district. He helped organize the East Palestine Alumni and Friends Scholaship Association.
UEleanor Maxwell, a 1942 graduate of East Palestine High. She helped create the East Palestine China Co.
URuth Barbour Oakley, a 1929 graduate of East Palestine High. Oakley taught English in the school system.
UHoward Parker, a 1933 graduate of East Palestine High. He returned to be a junior high principal and coach football.
U0Dennis Zettle, a former educator in the school district. He taught math and chaired the math and science department. He also served as yearbook and Key Club adviser.
