Veterans Day program
CHAMPION -- Township residents who are military veterans are invited to participate in the annual Veterans Day program for the public at Champion High School at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the gymnasium.
The program will feature music by the high school choir and band and guest speaker Robert Brothers, a Korean War veteran.
Also participating will be American Legion Post 540 and Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 137.
Veterans interested in attending should call the school office to arrange special seating.
AIDS Day gathering
WARREN -- A World Aids Day gathering is planned for Dec. 1 in The Hippodrome, 150 High St. N.E.
A BYOB social hour begins at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7.
Louis Farmer, coordinator of the Positively Sexual Program AIDS Task Force in Cleveland, is the featured speaker at 8 p.m. and fund-raising events begin at 8:45.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Reservations should be made by Nov. 24.
Parade to follow ceremony
WARREN -- There will a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Monument Park on Mahoning Avenue, followed by a parade at 12:30.
Some 65 parade units will march from the Market Street bridge downtown to Vine Street to High Street, where it will disband. The parade will be preceded by a flyover by planes from the Air Reserve Station at Vienna.
