COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Lindy Slinger scored a second-half goal as Dublin Coffman beat defending champion Strongsville 1-0 Saturday to win its second Division I state soccer final.
The Shamrocks (23-0-1) went undefeated and handed Strongsville (21-1-1) their only loss of the season. Dublin Coffman also won a state title in 2001.
Kelly Quinn started the scoring play with a pass to Alyssa Brown from midfield. Brown played a through-ball into the right side of the penalty area to Slinger. Slinger then sent a 12-yard shot past onrushing goalkeeper Michelle Neff into the left side netting in the 57th minute.
Shamrock goalkeeper Lauren Bachtel stopped all four Mustang shots.
