Fifth-graders celebrate the virtues of veterans
Connor Stewart, a fifth-grader at McKinley Elementary School, keeps an eye on World War II-Korea veteran John Schnader of Lisbon during the fifth annual Veterans Day breakfast at the Lisbon school. Some 100 local vets attended the event Friday as guests of the school's fifth-grade classes. Schnader served from 1942-46 at the airborne jump school in Fort Benning, Ga., and again from 1950-51 during the Korean War.
