Pack bags to prevent wrinkled clothes

NEW YORK (AP) -- Getting clothes from home to hotel wrinkle-free is an ongoing, and often frustrating, quest for travelers. No matter how perfectly clothes are folded, they rarely come out of the suitcase in pristine condition. Other potential disasters lurk among the perfume, shampoo or lotion.
Hope Greenberg, fashion market director of Lucky magazine, suggests these ideas for avoiding packing pitfalls:
UStack two or three pairs of pants together, fold them in half along rear seams and roll them up, starting from the waist. Tuck the ball into the corner of the suitcase.
UPlace each shirt face down on a flat surface and fold the sleeves in a crisscross. Starting at the bottom, roll into a tight cylinder.
USave space by laying sweaters flat -- not folded -- lengthwise, on the bottom of the suitcase.
UPack lingerie in separate bags to avoid tangling.
UAvoid crushing shoes by stuffing tissue paper in the toes and placing each pair in a breathable bag.
ULay jewelry flat in a jewelry roll, placing earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets in separate areas.
UKeep toiletries that might leak in sealed freezer-weight plastic bags and stash everything in a plastic-lined cosmetic bag that zips shut. Another option is to pour shampoo, conditioner, lotion and other liquids into travel-size bottles that fit in a zip-top pouch.
