SAN ANTONIO -- The Los Angeles Lakers are still undefeated, though it took massive efforts from Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. Bryant scored 37 and O'Neal had 35 points, 20 rebounds, six assists and four blocked shots. San Antonio was without injured starters Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, yet the defending champions got a career-high 33 points from Manu Ginobili. Bryant shot 16-for-29 and added five rebounds and four steals, while O'Neal was 12-for-23 from the field and 11-for-16 at the foul line. His two free throws with 16.9 seconds remaining broke the last of 16 ties.
Pacers 87, Nets 81
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Former Net Anthony Johnson held off a late New Jersey rally with two straight 3-pointers and Indiana won its third straight. Ron Artest had 21 points, Johnson added 17 and Jermaine O'Neal had 15 for the Pacers. Kerry Kittles had 23 points and nine rebounds to lead the Nets. Richard Jefferson added 18, and Aaron Williams had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jason Kidd finished with 10 points and eight assists.
Raptors 77, Mavericks 71
TORONTO -- Vince Carter had 19 points and Toronto held Dallas to its lowest-scoring game in nearly six years. Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 27 points, but had just four in the second half. Antonio Davis had 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Morris Peterson added 12 points for the Raptors. Antoine Walker had 14 points and 17 rebounds for the Mavericks, but also committed nine turnovers. Michael Finley went 4-for-13 from the field for 11 points. Dallas was without point guard Steve Nash, who sat out with a strained left shoulder.
