More than a turf battle
Buffalo (N.Y.) News: The Bush administration's reluctance to cooperate fully with the federal commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks is yet another example of this administration's aversion to transparency in government. Worse, it works against the interests of the public, the survivors of the attack and the victims' families.
This is not -- or should not be -- simply a turf battle. It is imperative that the 9/11 commission be able to examine all the pertinent materials and deliberate on all the relevant facts in order to establish a thorough understanding of what led up to the attacks and then make recommendations that, hopefully, will make the country safer.
