Shoe junkie starts new line of footwear

NEW YORK (AP) -- "The View's" Star Jones claims to have 500 pairs of shoes in her closet, but the TV star will soon be selling shoes instead of buying them.
In addition to being a spokeswoman for Payless ShoeSource, the TV host has a namesake shoe line that will be available at the discount shoe retailer starting in November.
The Starlet by Star Jones line ranges from $15.99 to $21.99 and offers a strappy dress sandal, a T-strap style, a mule with brocade velvet, a two-piece silhouette with an ankle strap and a strappy slide. The styles will be offered in wine, chocolate brown, forest green, champagne and deep black.
"We played with the latest trends, colors and styles to create a collection that delivers designer flair at affordable prices," Jones says.
Jones, a self-proclaimed shoe junkie, was named chief of consumer style and spokeswoman for the discount shoe store in 2002.
