Purse: $6 million. Winner's share: $1.08 million.
Television: ESPN (Thursday-Friday, 1-6 p.m.; Sunday, 1-2 p.m.) and ABC (Saturday, 3:30-7 p.m.; Sunday, 2-6 p.m.).
Last year: Fiji's Vijay Singh won at East Lake in Atlanta, beating Charles Howell III by two strokes. Tiger Woods tied for seventh, eight strokes back.
Last week: South Africa's Retief Goosen won the Chrysler Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla., beating Singh by three strokes. Singh has four straight top-two finishes, winning twice.
Notes: The season-ending tournament is limited to the top 30 players on the money list. Singh earned $518,400 last week to increase his tour-leading total to $7,345,907 -- $768,494 more than second-place Woods. Singh, paired with Woods in the first two rounds, only has to finish in a three-way tie for third to win his first money title, while Woods needs a victory to have any chance for his fifth straight title. ... Woods won the 1999 tournament at Champions, and Canada's Mike Weir took the 2001 event on the Houston course. ... Briny Baird played his way into the field last week with a third-place finish. ... Major champions Jack Burke Jr. and Jimmy Demaret founded the club in 1958. ... U.S. Open winner Jim Furyk and Justin Leonard will represent the United States in the World Cup next week in Kiawah Island, S.C. The Franklin Templeton Shootout also is next week in Naples, Fla.

Last year: Annika Sorenstam won the 10th of her 11 2002 LPGA Tour titles, beating South Korea's Grace Park by two strokes.
Last week: Shi-hyun Ahn, a 19-year-old South Korean competing in her first LPGA Tour event, won the CJ Nine Bridges Classic by three strokes in South Korea.
Notes: Sorenstam also won the 2001 tournament at Musashigaoka. She leads the tour with five victories and $1,745,006 in 15 starts. ... Canada's Lorie Kane won in 2000 at Seta, beating Sweden's Sophie Gustafson in a playoff. ... The LPGA Tournament of Champions is next week in Mobile, Ala., followed by the season-ending ADT Championship in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Format: Britain and Ireland vs. Continental Europe. Thursday and Friday, five best-ball matches; Saturday, five morning greensome matches (both players drive and play alternate shots with the preferred tee shot) and four afternoon alternate-shot matches; Sunday, 10 singles matches.
