On the count of 3, let's allweep for Donna Roberts
EDITOR:
My heart goes out to that poor lady, Donna Roberts, who has "miserable conditions" on death row and that she has to "bang on the door like an animal to get food or medical supplies." Tsk, tsk.
How tragic this is, since all she did was plot to have her husband killed. How shameful that she does have a place to sleep and gets three meals a day. Ask any homeless person about bad living conditions. I suggest to Ms. Roberts that she ask any of the Holocaust survivors and POWs what their living conditions were.
She should be glad that she doesn't live in Arizona, where Sheriff Arpayo lives. He would make sure she had the very best living conditions. His prisoners eat bologna and live in tents in the desert.
Ms. Roberts should ask the working poor who work every day, sometimes at two jobs just to make ends meet, and still don't have make enough money for the bare essentials, let alone some luxuries.
Why do criminals think they are entitled to anything? She is on death row for a reason. When she plotted to kill her husband, why didn't she think that it was wrong and that if she was caught what the punishment would be? If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
I almost want to set up an account for her so that people could send dollars so that she could have a better life ... NOT!

Workers at Lincoln Placeare proud of what they do
EDITOR:
As employees of Lincoln Place Residential Campus for Youth, we are disappointed that so much has been assumed without any effort to verify allegations made by persons who have little or no first hand knowledge of Lincoln Place, or the child protective system within which we have worked for more than 13 years to serve the needs of more than 900 children per year.
Lincoln Place is licensed and monitored by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. We must continually adhere to standards established by state, county and local governing bodies. Inspections, both announced and unannounced, occur each year. Additionally, in recent weeks we have had numerous inspections by various state and local agencies due to reports alleged by a few former employees. We are proud of our record of compliance with all of these inspections. We are also proud of our more than 200 employees who work tirelessly to meet the needs of children who frequently have been unsuccessful at home, school, foster care, and other residential facilities before coming to Lincoln Place. Our staff are well trained and qualified to address the wide range of behavioral issues.
Children ages 8-19 are placed with us by statewide public children service agencies and juvenile courts. While most children appreciate the stability, structure and care they receive, there are those who would choose to continue to make inappropriate choices. Although staff take all necessary precautions, rule violations do occur. Our treatment team works closely with the placing agency and local authorities to take the most appropriate action. Juvenile court charges, restitution and community service are typical and effective means for teaching responsibility for one's actions. Services provided at Lincoln Place include chemical dependency treatment and education, independent living training and programs that address a wide range of behavioral and mental health issues.
Our on campus school is an accredited community school approved by the State of Ohio Department of Education. We offer a state approved curriculum, with a principal and full time faculty, support staff and teacher's aides. Medical needs of our residents are met by a team of care providers. We welcome the community's interest in Lincoln Place. If you would like information regarding Lincoln Place or our programs, contact us at (330) 788-9977.
