JEJU ISLAND, South Korea (AP) -- Teenager Shi-hyun Ahn led by three strokes halfway through the CJ Nine Bridges Classic on Saturday after shooting a 1-under-par 71 in the LPGA tournament.
Defending champion Se Ri Pak, Grace Park, Catriona Matthew and Laura Davies shared second place.
Ahn, a 19-year-old South Korean, birdied the par-4 14th hole after making nine consecutive pars. She finished the second round at 8-under 136, a day after tying Pak's course record on the resort island with a 65.
"If I win this tournament, I plan to go to the United States to join the LPGA Tour," Ahn said.
Pak tied for 10th a week ago on the Korean tour, after becoming the first woman in 58 years to make the two-round cut in a men's event. The South Korean star shot a 70 Saturday while Park had a 73, Matthew a 72 and Davies a 71.
"I putted very well for the two days, and I need to do it one more day," Davies said.
Michelle Wie, 14, ended the day last in the 69-player field at 19-over 163. After a first-round 85, she shot a 78 that included three double bogeys. The tournament is Wie's seventh and final LPGA Tour start of the year.
The field features 50 LPGA Tour players competing for a $1.2 million purse. The winner's share is $187,500.
