The sophomore's efforts in a 53-34 loss could be a state record.

Downingtown East High School sophomore Pat Devlin passed for 511 yards a 53-34 loss to West Chester East, possibly establishing a new state single-game record.
Devlin threw five touchdown passes.
Because there is no official Pennsylvania high school record book, it is uncertain whether Devlin's performance set a record.
The national record is 764 yards, set in 2000 by David Koral of Pacific Palisades High in California.
Recordbreaker
Curtis Brinkley knows how to break records.
The Philadelphia West Catholic running back broke the Philadelphia single game and career rushing records last weekend in the same game.
Brinkley, a senior, rushed for 399 yards against North Catholic in a 41-13 victory, raising his career total to 6,351 yards.
Brinkley surpassed the single game record of 379 yards, set by Lawrence Reid of Cardinal Dougherty in 1975, and the career record of 6,122 yards by Frankford's Eddie Gaskins, whose final season was 1997.
Last of its kind
Things are changing in the Central Bucks School District.
Central Bucks East's 17-10 victory over Central Bucks West last week marked the last time that Central Bucks football players will play only for the two rival schools.
Next year, the school district will open a third high school, Central Bucks South, which will take mostly East players.
Although Central Bucks East and Central Bucks West will continue to play, many of the East players who will attend South next year said the long-standing rivalry will be diminished somewhat.
Central Bucks West, long one of the state's top teams, has never lost to a school three years in a row. But that will happen Friday if the Bucks lose to North Penn. North Penn defeated CB West 27-21 last year and 20-7 in 2001.
Joy of McCoy
Bishop McDevitt sophomore LeSean McCoy ran for 376 yards on 41 carries in a 34-20 victory against Cedar Cliff, giving him 2,355 yards on 244 attempts this season. He has scored 25 touchdowns.
McCoy has a long way to go to reach the state record of 3,853 yards, set last season by Parkland's Austin Scott, but is having one of the best seasons by a Pennsylvania sophomore.
"That McCoy is the real deal," Cedar Cliff coach Vince Pantalone said. "I hope he goes to college early."
Off to Virginia
Central Mountain's Chris Gould, one of the state's top kickers, made a verbal commitment to Virginia, choosing the Cavaliers over Ohio State and Pitt.
Gould is 7 of 14 in field-goal attempts this season, with four misses from beyond 50 yards. He has made 53- and 54-yarders this season.
Gould is the brother of Penn State kicker Rob Gould.
