STRUTHERS -- Youngstown State sophomore Katie Deprey scored her second goal of the season to lift the Penguins to a 1-0 victory over Loyola Thursday in a Horizon League game.
After a Loyola (6-10, 1-6) foul, junior Kim Jugenheimer of YSU raced the ball up the left sideline to midfield and found sophomore Jessica Yarter.
Yarter worked the ball into Rambler territory where she found Deprey crossing the middle of the field.
Beating all Loyola's defenders, Deprey lofted a shot over the out-stretched arms of Loyola goalkeeper Emily Peick and found the net at the 73:06 mark for the Penguins (6-10, 1-5).
Jugenheimer and Yarter both had assists. YSU goalkeeper Mia Railing recorded her first shutout of the season with five saves.
The Penguins travel to Akron University Sunday to conclude regular season play. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
