AUCTIONS
XDas Deutsch Center, Clinic for Special Needs Children, will conduct an Amish auction beginning at 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at Middlefield Market, 15848 Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. Featured will be Amish-made items including hand-sewn quilts, handcrafted hickory rockers, birdhouses and furniture. Smaller home decor items, crafts, gift baskets and gift certificates will be offered through a silent auction. Those attending also are eligible to win one of several door prizes valued up to $250. XMahoning Valley Ulster Project will sponsor an auction Saturday at St. Luke's Banquet Hall, 5235 South Ave., Boardman. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the auction will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door or by calling Rosie or Leo Jay, (330) 758-8546. There will be food, music and a cash bar.
XSt. Rose Church will hold an auction Saturday at McMenamy's, Route 422, Niles. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the auction to start at 7. Tickets are $15 and include a buffet. The event also will include a quilt raffle, Chinese auction and cash bar. Tickets can be purchased at the school or by calling (330) 747-7221.
BAZAARS/CRAFT SHOWS
XCanfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., will hold a John Wesley's 300th Birthday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Featured will be quilts, baskets, bakery goods, Christmas decorations, floral arrangements and other items. A cafeteria-style luncheon will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
XFirst Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will hold a bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. A dinner of creamed chicken on biscuits also will be available for $8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m.
XGreenville Area Leisure Service Association will sponsor a holiday craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Greenville Recreation Center Gym, 45 Alan Ave., Greenville, Pa. XWest Middlesex High School Baseball Team will sponsor an arts and crafts show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the high school, state Route 18, West Middlesex, Pa. Homemade ethnic foods and pastries will be available. The entrance fee is $1.
DINNER/DANCES
XSerbian Sisters will sponsor a "Night in Belgrade" dinner dance Saturday at the Serbian Memorial Hall, 54 Laird Ave., Youngstown. XWestern Mahoning County Kiwanis Club will sponsor a round and square dance from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Nov. 15 the Ellsworth VFW Hall, 11397 Ellsworth Road. The cost is $10 at the door. FUND-RAISERS
XAmerican Legion Auxiliary Unit 51 of Hubbard will sell poppies, the red paper memorial flower made by hospitalized veterans, on Friday. Volunteers will be at shopping centers and other public places to offer the poppies in exchange for a donation to help veterans and their families.
XA fifth-year anniversary banquet and silent auction is planned by the Deaf and Deaf-Blind Committee Human Rights for 5 p.m. Nov. 15 at St. Joseph Center, 2346 W. 14th St., Cleveland. Speaker will be Cheri Honkala, national spokeswoman for the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign. The cost is $15 for the buffet dinner. Sign language and voice interpreters will be provided. XGrace Lutheran Church, 162 S. Raccoon Road, will hold a fall sale from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Available will be trash and treasure items, vegetable soup, pork and sauerkraut sandwiches, and baked goods. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will give matching funds for the event.

XTrumbull County Historical Society is accepting donations of used decorations and gift items for its annual Christmas Treasures sale, which will be held from 9:30 to 4 p.m. Nov. 14 and 15 at the John Stark Edwards House and Museum, 303 Monroe Street, Warren. Proceeds from the sale maintain the house and garden.

XThe Carpatho-Rusyn Society will sponsor a free Carpatho-Rusyn Heritage Seminar from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 356 S. Bella Vista Ave. The presentation by John Righetti, president of the national society, will feature the culture of the Rusyn people of East Slovakia, West Ukraine and Southern Poland. X"Christmas Around the World" is the theme of the Warren Junior Women's League's 34th annual champagne luncheon and fashion show planned Nov. 21 at McMenamy's in Niles. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Melissa Reed is chairwoman. There will be a fashion show, including children's fashions modeled by boys and girls from the Children's Rehabilitation Center. Door prizes will be awarded. Raffles will feature prizes including a trip to Myrtle Beach. Individual tickets are $45.
