LPGA Shi-hyun, 17, fires 65 to tie course mark, lead by 1



The South Korean made seven birdies during a bogey-free round.
JEJU ISLAND, South Korea (AP) -- Teenager Ahn Shi-hyun tied a course record Friday with a 7-under-par 65, giving her a one-stroke lead in the first round of an LPGA tournament.
Se Ri Pak, who set the record last year on the resort island, shot a 69 at the CJ Nine Bridges Classic.
Shi-hyun made seven birdies during a bogey-free round. The 17-year-old South Korean who made four consecutive birdies on the back nine.
"Every putt was good, even the long putts," she said.
Pak, the defending champion and a three-time winner on tour this year, had one eagle and four birdies. The South Korean tied for 10th Sunday on the Korean tour after becoming the first woman in 58 years to make the two-round cut in a men's event.
"I am generally satisfied with my score today," Pak said.
Park in second place
Grace Park, who complained about cell phones ringing and gallery members moving, was in second place at 66.
Michelle Wie, 14, shot an 85 and was last in the 69-player field. Wie double bogeyed the first hole after her tee shot was lost in the trees. Her first shot on the par-3 second hole found the rough and she needed two shots to hit the green before finishing with a bogey.
She had a triple bogey on the par-4 fourth hole when her third shot went over the green and into a hazard. The tournament is Wie's seventh and final LPGA Tour start of the year.
"I never played this bad in three years," Wie said. "After my first drive, I wasn't feeling really confident and then I got a little uncomfortable."
The field features 50 LPGA Tour players and is competing for a $1.2 million purse. The winner's share is $187,500.
