CANFIELD -- Diane M. Malloy, technical director of the nuclear department at the Heart Center of Northeast Ohio, was recently certified as a nuclear cardiology technologist. She qualified for the new certification by passing a specialty exam in nuclear cardiology administered by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. Malloy lives in Canfield.
BOARDMAN -- The Holiday Inn Boardman on South Avenue has been awarded the Inter-Continental Hotel Group's Torchbearer Award, the company's top recognition for maintaining a standard of excellence. It's the 10th time the hotel, owned and operated by the DeBartolo Property Group, has received the honor. Brent Reynolds, general manager, said fewer than 10 Holiday Inns in the world have received the award 10 times. The Boardman facility was one of 20 full-service Holiday Inns receiving the award this year.
WARREN -- Dennis Rossi of Warren and David B. Hazen of Salem are both serving three-year terms on the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Association of Insurance Agents/Independent Insurance Agents of Ohio.
Rossi is a trustee for District 8, representing agents in a five-county region. This is his second term on the board. Hazen, president and owner of Young & amp; Merrill Insurance Agency in Salem, is serving his first term. He is a trustee for District 9, representing 10 counties.
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, a Humility of Mary Health Partners facility, has been awarded the 2003 Consumer Choice Award by the National Research Corp. for the fifth year. The award is based on results of the NRC Healthcare Market Guide study, a nationwide consumer assessment of the health care industry. The hospital was one of only 174 hospitals in 130 markets receiving the award.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Carney-McNicholas Inc., of Youngstown, an agent of United Van Lines, has been named to the Missouri-based transportation company's President's Club at the $3 million level. The title recognizes agents that have generated $1 million or more in sales for United during the past year.
WARREN -- Timothy J. Mulvey of Mulvey Insurance Agency in Warren was recently recognized for professional leadership and advanced knowledge of the insurance industry by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, a national insurance professional organization. He was awarded a certificate marking more than 15 years of participation as a certified insurance counselor, including annual completion of education and training requirements.
