GILLETTE CONTEST Student has 'best legs in America'

Gillette sought legs that were shapely, toned and had a good appearance.

MIAMI -- The best legs in the country are standing behind the bar at Automatic Slim's in Miami's South Beach.
They're walking from class to class at Florida International University's School of Hospitality Management.
They're taking over the dance floors of South Beach nightclubs.
Mara Degenhardt -- FIU junior by day, bartender by night -- has the "Legs of a Goddess."
So say the people over at Gillette, who crowned her with the "best legs in America" title last month after she won the company's Passion Pink Venus' nationwide search.
Judges chose her -- and her legs -- over those of about 1,000 other girls. They were looking for legs that were shapely, toned and had an overall good appearance, according to Gillette.
Now not only does Degenhardt have the toned legs to prove it, she's also got a vintage 1959 pink Cadillac convertible she won in the contest. She says she'll keep using her silver Volkswagen Jetta, but plans to drive the Caddy when she goes out cruising around South Beach.
"It's definitely very unexpected," Degenhardt says. "It's all so overwhelming."
