Mr. and Mrs. Spagnola celebrate 40th anniversary at family dinner



XNEW MIDDLETOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. John James Spagnola, 92 Woodland Drive, were guests of honor during a family dinner Oct. 18 at Alberini's restaurant, Niles, in celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary.
Hosting the event were the honorees' children and their spouses, Jennie and Steve Virgallito of Austintown and John and Jenelle Spagnola of Poland.
The former Elizabeth Barbara Farinelli and Mr. Spagnola were married Oct. 19, 1963, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown.
They are members of St. Paul the Apostle Church.
Mrs. Spagnola is retired and had worked as a cashier and in sales for local retailers. She is a member of the church Altar Guild and pirogi workers.
Retiring in 1994, Mr. Spagnola worked in management for 32 years for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Youngstown. He is a member of the local and state chapters of Public Employee Retirees Inc. and is a past commander of American Legion Post 565. He also served as a U.S. Army ammunition renovation supervisor from 1954-56.
The family circle includes three grandchildren.
