Children's Aid Society of Mercer County names new officers

MERCER, Pa. -- The Oct. 7 meeting of the Auxiliary to the Children's Aid Society of Mercer County was highlighted by the election of officers to serve through 2004.
Named to various posts were Carol Smith, president; Joan Foster, vice president; Catherine Young, secretary; Darlene McBride, treasurer; Ruth Wingard, historian; and Ginny Adams, corresponding secretary.
It was reported that the auxiliary has purchased a chain-link fence for the protection of children attending the day-care center.
The next meeting was planned for 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at 350 W. Market St., where the group's regular meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month. Anyone interested in the work or the organization is welcome.
