Air Force major
Air Force Major Carl D. Wooten was promoted to his current rank while assigned to Air Force Special Operations at Hurlburt Field, Fort Walton Beach, Fla. He is the son of Barry and Toni Wooten of Hermitage, Pa. He graduated in 1988 from Hickory High School, Hermitage, and received a bachelor's degree in 1993 from the Air Force Academy, Colo.
Marine lance corporal
Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Benjamin P. Delgros, son of Linda R. and Edward J. Delgros of Hermitage, Pa., was promoted to his current rank while serving with Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Delgros is a 2000 graduate of Sharon, Pa., High School.

Back from Middle East
Several area residents recently returned from the Middle East, where they were assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 7, based in Gulfport, Miss. The unit provides military construction support to Navy, Marine Corps and other forces in military operations, constructs base facilities and is armed to conduct defensive operations. They include:
