Babe Ruth (14-15s)
Rondinelli's 7, Line Drive 2 -- Anthony Brunetti went 3-for-4 with a triple and double and Joe Morales had two hits, including a double. Corey Collins pitched a four-hitter striking out six. Armani Johnson had two hits for Line Drive.
Line Drive 8, Howland 6 -- Ryan Satterlee went 2-for-3 with the go-ahead RBI single as Doug McGlynn came in relief to get the win. Jeff Musick pitched a complete game for Howland.
Commercial Neon 10, Astros 4 -- Joe Motto and RJ Barella had two hits each while Nick Turco scored three runs. Matt Bable went 2-for-3 for Astros.
Howland 12, Central Optical 3 -- Brendan Solarz and TJ Stoian had three hits each while Josh Swipas pitched a complete game.
Livi Steel 13, Central Optical 0 -- Chuck Olesky went 3-for-3 and Jim Pasquine had two hits for Livi Steel. Dave DiVorio had the only two hits for Central.
Livi Steel 13, Commercial Neon 3 -- Aaron Cosma went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, including a triple, while Joe Razzone and Xavier Godoy chipped in with two hits. Josh Folkwein went 3-for-3 for Neon.
Howland 8, Belleria Pizza 4 -- Zach Russell smacked three hits and Josh Swipas and Ryan Kellar two each. TJ Stoian got the win, giving up three hits in four innings. Josh Houser had two hits for Belleria.
Babe Ruth (13s)
Line Drive 7, Howland 3 -- Mike Popio and Kevin Mills each had two hits each for Line Drive. Mills had two RBIs. Dean Porter, Joe Strawinski and Popio combined on the win. Vince Villio and Brett Fodor had two hits each for Howland.
Line Drive 5, Rondinelli 0 -- Scott Smith pitched a complete game, striking out eight and allowing just two hits. Corey Nesbitt gives up only three hits in the loss.
Hubbard 8, Steubenville 2 -- Marc Kanetsky struck out seven for Hubbard while Corey Hitt and Matt Lopuchovsky had three hits each.
Hubbard 15, Steubenville 2 -- Mike Carnahan and Steve Zubyk combined to pitch a no-hitter. Kanetsky, Hitt, Lopuchovsky and Andrew Wolf had two hits each.
Hubbard 5, Howland 0 -- Corey Hitt threw a complete game two-hit shutout. Hitt, Kanetsky and Madeline all had multi-hit games.
Tri-T Pony (13-14)
Canfield Hometown Vision 5, Salem VFW 4 -- Eric Davis struck out 12 batters for the complete-game victory. Canfield rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for the win. For Salem, Bob Jenson struck out 11 batters in six innings and hit two doubles.
SOFTBALL
Valley Sting -- 14U (24-1) won six straight at the Poland Pride NSA tournament. Victories were over Alliance Maddogs, North Canton Wolfpack, Akron She Devils, Canfield Ohio Stas, Wadsworth Rattlers-Gore and North Canton Grand Slam. Markie Pozzuto threw a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the championship game against Grand Slam. Amy Downs singled, was sacrificed to second by Colleen Courtney, and scored on a single by Allie Patton with the game's only run. Other pitchers in the tournament were Caitlyn Youngs, Trisha Dreslinski and Patton. Leading hitters included Amber Adley, Ashley Conger, Dar Bott, Kari Thompson, Downs and Courtney.

Mill Creek Sandwich Factory 9, Niles A-Z Plumbing 5 -- Emily Wheland had four hits while Ashley Shelly, Erica Kotel, Sabrina Iman and Jolanta Carkido all had three, and Natalie Palermo had two, for Mill Creek. Christine Tammapo singled and scored two runs, and Jessica Berringer had two hits for Niles.
