Yankees 11, Red Sox 3
NEW YORK -- Derek Jeter hit a leadoff homer as New York snapped a five-game losing streak. Andy Pettitte (5-5) ended a four-start losing streak, and Robin Ventura and Todd Zeile also homered for the Yankees, who had lost eight straight and 12 of 13 at home. Pettitte held Nomar Garciaparra hitless in three at-bats and allowed only two runs and five hits in 72/3 innings. Antonio Osuna also retired Garciaparra, ending his hitting streak at a major league-high 26 games.
Rangers 4, Devil Rays 2
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Rafael Palmeiro hit his 503rd home run, and Mark Teixeira and Juan Gonzalez also homered for Texas. Palmeiro homered for the third time in four games, hitting his 13th of the season to move within one of Hall of Famer Eddie Murray for 18th on the career list. Colby Lewis (4-3) allowed one run to win for the first time since April 20.
Blue Jays 5, White Sox 1
TORONTO -- Roy Halladay won his sixth straight start, pitching his first complete game of the season, and Toronto won its sixth in a row. Carlos Delgado went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored for the Blue Jays, who tied a franchise record with their 19th win in May. Halladay (6-2) allowed seven hits, striking out seven and walking one for his first complete game since June 18, 2002. He hasn't lost since April 15. Bartolo Colon (5-4) allowed five runs on nine hits.
Orioles 12, Angels 4
BALTIMORE -- The Orioles hit three homers off Aaron Sele and Sidney Ponson pitched an eight-hitter for Baltimore. Geronimo Gil, Tony Batista and Melvin Mora homered for the Orioles, who reached double figures in hits (16) for the eighth straight game. Ponson (6-3) struck out seven and walked two, improving to 5-0 lifetime against the Angels.
Twins 4, Athletics 3
MINNEAPOLIS -- Pinch-hitter Bobby Kielty hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning. Barry Zito (6-4) breezed through the first seven innings, holding the Twins to one hit -- Corey Koskie's solo homer in the fourth -- and striking out 10. But Dustan Mohr doubled with one out in the eighth and Zito hit A.J. Pierzynski with a pitch. Kielty then connected for his seventh home run. Oakland's Ramon Hernandez hit a two-run homer in the seventh.
Mariners 15, Royals 7
Kansas City, Mo. -- Edgar Martinez homered twice and drove in five runs and Randy Winn got a career-high five hits for Seattle. It was the 21st multi-homer game of Martinez's career. Winn was 5-for-5 while Ben Davis homered and drove in four runs for Seattle. The Royals have dropped 20 of their last 30 games.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Rockies 7, Dodgers 3
DENVER -- Larry Walker drove in four run as Colorado snapped Los Angeles' 10-game winning streak. The Rockies tagged Kazuhisa Ishii (4-2) for five runs in the first inning, including Walker's two-run triple and a key error by first baseman Fred McGriff. Walker added a two-run single in the seventh. The Dodgers' winning streak was their longest since they won 11 straight in 1993. Adrian Beltre had three hits and two RBIs for Los Angeles.
Braves 3, Reds 2, 10 innings
ATLANTA -- Chipper Jones led off the bottom of the 10th inning with a homer. Cincinnati lost for the first time in 10 games this season when tied after eight innings.
Mets 4, Phillies 2
PHILADELPHIA -- Al Leiter pitched six shutout innings and Jeromy Burnitz hit a two-run homer for New York. Leiter (5-2) allowed two hits, struck out eight and walked six. Armando Benitez recorded the final four outs for his 15th save. Philadelphia has just 18 runs in its last six games.
Astros 7, Cardinals 4
ST. LOUIS -- Jeriome Robertson beat St. Louis for the second straight start, and Jeff Kent homered and had three hits for Houston, which rallied from a 3-1 fourth-inning deficit to snap a three-game losing streak. Kent, Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell combined for 10 hits and four RBIs.
Brewers 4, Padres 2
SAN DIEGO -- Pinch-hitters Brady Clark and Keith Ginter had consecutive two-run singles with two outs in the ninth inning for Milwaukee. It was the 25th loss in 29 games for the Padres. Jake Peavy took a three-hit shutout into the ninth and came within two outs of his first complete game.
Giants 4, Diamondbacks 3, 13 innings
SAN FRANCISCO -- Marquis Grissom hit a two-out, two-run triple in the 13th for San Francisco. After Matt Williams hit a go-ahead double for the Diamondbacks in the top of the 13th, Grissom won it with his drive off the right-field wall. Rich Aurilia walked with one out and Pedro Feliz walked with two outs, bringing up Grissom.
