It is time for Hill to face another judge, his maker

It is time for Hill to faceanother judge, his maker
EDITOR:
It's obvious to me that Danny Lee Hill never heard the saying "and the truth shall set you free," since now he claims to be mentally retarded and also innocent.
If my memory serves me correctly it was when a $5,000 reward was offered to anyone having information leading to the capture and conviction of the murderer of Raymond Fife that Danny Lee Hill went to the police and fingered his friend.
To me anyone who has the mental capacity to do that sounds cunning, but not mentally retarded
Anyone who values life does not want someone who is innocent to pay with their life, and that is why I believe anyone accused of committing a crime that carries the death penalty should be given the best defense, especially if they are poor.
I believe Danny Lee Hill got a fair trial. Society judged and found him guilty of committing a horrible crime, and now it's time for him to be judged by his maker.
I along with countless others know that words could never express the feeling of sympathy we have for those whose loved ones lives were lost through senseless violence. I also believe that because God too was murdered, when an innocent life is murdered, a special bond is joined not only with the victims but also with their loved ones. The remarkable strength the loved ones of victims possess convinces me of this.
Sadly those who take the life of others forget that for their own life to be valued they must also value the life of others. Life was meant to be lived not, destroyed by others.

Give freedom to Iraqis, but protect our interests
EDITOR:
Ever since American troops liberated Iraq in April, the government has been trying to decide what to do about establishing a government there.
Some people believe that the Iraqis should be left to rule themselves, while others contend that the U.S. military should take control.
It is in my strong belief that the Iraqis should be given control of their country. I mean, it is their country, after all.
I, of course, am not saying that the Iraqis should be completely left alone, due to the rising suspicion that Saddam Hussein is still alive. If Saddam is, indeed, alive and the Iraqis were left alone to keep democracy in their country, then he would easily be able to force these new leaders to cede their rule and America would be back where it started.
But the problem of not giving the Iraqi people control of their country could result in severe discontent with America, not only among the Iraqi people but also among many of the countries that were opposed to the war to begin with. And this discontent could result in widespread terrorism, violent revolts and additional wars against America.
So in conclusion, I propose that we give the Iraqis freedom in order to prevent further hatred toward America, but we should also station a small amount of military troops in Iraq to watch over the Iraqis and protect our interests. We just need to make sure that our troops remain inactive until they are needed.

Ohio Senate Bill 78 protects veteran and fraternal clubs
EDITOR:
In writing this letter, I hope that the veteran and fraternal club members throughout Ohio can better understand what Senate Bill 78 will do to protect their clubs that are so very important in our local communities. This bill was written to allow our clubs to chose for themselves where their donations will be made rather than the state tell them where the contributions have to go. It will also allow these clubs, many that are very old and costly, to use those funds for building upkeep and expensive repairs and upgrading.
It is very important that each and every veteran and fraternal club member throughout Ohio call their state senator and state representative and tell them to support Senate Bill 78. The survival of many of your clubs is at stake. If you have any questions concerning Senate Bill 78, call your local club and find out the facts.
