Hillary and about 100 other Mount Everest climbers are in Katmandu to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the conquering of Mount Everest. Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa became the first to scale the 29,035-foot summit on May 29, 1953, and Junko Tabei became the first woman to summit Mount Everest in 1975. The ceremonies were Tuesday.
