GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) -- Andy Kelly threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Sulecio Sanford as time expired, then connected with Sanford again on a two-point conversion as the Detroit Fury beat the Grand Rapids Rampage 55-54 in a wild-card playoff game Sunday in the Arena Football League.
It was the first playoff win in franchise history for 10th-seeded Detroit, and the first time the Fury have won a game at Grand Rapids.
Detroit will travel to face the Tampa Bay Storm on Saturday in the quarterfinals.
Seventh-seeded Grand Rapids was upset in a wild-card game for the second straight season, and lost six straight to close out this season.
The Rampage had the ball and the lead late in the fourth quarter before receiver Steve Smith fumbled. The ball was recovered by Detroit's Ty Grovesteen with a minute remaining, enough time for Kelly to lead the Fury to the winning score.
Kelly completed 23 of 58 passes for 324 yards and six touchdowns, two of them to Herman Bell.
Grand Rapids quarterback Clint Dolezel completed 16 of 20 passes for 285 yards and seven touchdowns. The Rampage's Terrill Shaw led all receivers with six catches for 134 yards and four touchdowns.
