COLUMBUS -- Taylor Twellman scored in the 89th minute and Brain Kamler had two goals as the New England Revolution beat the Columbus Crew 3-2 on Saturday night.
New England improved to 4-2-2, leaving it two points behind the first-place MetroStars in the Eastern Division. Ross Pauley and Brian Dunseth scored for Columbus (3-3-2).

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Defender Steve Jolley scored with six minutes remaining as the MetroStars won their fifth straight game.
The MetroStars (5-1-1) matched the longest winning streak in team history, set in 2001, and extended their unbeaten streak to six games. Dallas is 0-3-3. Clint Mathis also scored for the MetroStars. Jason Kreis scored for Dallas, ending MetroStars goalkeeper Tim Howard's shutout streak at 292 minutes.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Preki scored on a 20-yard shot in the 89th minute to lift Kansas City past Los Angeles.
Igor Simutenkov opened the scoring for Kansas City (3-1-4) in the 21st minute, and Nick Garcia tied it for Los Angeles (0-3-4) in the 75th minute.

CARY, N.C. -- Aly Wagner scored in the 78th minute as San Diego beat Carolina 2-1 on Saturday, the Spirit's first victory over the defending WUSA champion Courage.
Julie Foudy opened the scoring for San Diego (3-1-3) on a penalty kick in the 45th minute, and Danielle Fotopolous tied it for Carolina (1-5-0) in the 76th minute.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Mia Hamm scored two goals and added an assist for league-leading Washington.
Hamm opened the scoring on a 20-yard shot in the eighth minute, and made it 2-0 on a penalty kick in the 41st minute.
Lindsay Stoecker and Casey Zimny also scored for Washington (5-1-1), and Siri Mullinix made five saves for her second shutout of the season. New York dropped to 3-5-0.
