Line Drive Academy 4, Astros 2 -- Dan Hanolt pitched a four-hitter while D.J. Ronc had an RBI double and Doug McGlynn knocked in two runs.
Line Drive Academy 12, Commercial Neon 0 -- Mark Cartwright pitched a two-hit shutout and went 3 for 3 at the plate. Doug McGlynn went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs while Brent Dutton and Chester Kirkwood had two hits each.
Tri-T Pony (ages 13-14)
Campbell Black, 16, Boardman Quints Auto Body 6 -- Marcus Simms and Robert Switka combined to pitch the win. Simms went 4 for 4 at the plate. Chris Pope had two hits, including a two-run homer. Aaron Soares also had two hits. For Boardman, Mike Barringer had two hits while Vince Kordic, Kenny Richards and Blair Peterson each added a hit.
Niles Ianazone's Pizza 11, Struthers GridIron 2 -- Mike Kelly had three hits including two homers and four RBIs. Vince Caicco hit a grand slam while Brian Bianco and Rob Sava had solo homers. Anthony Ragozine was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts. Brian Bianco pitched the last two innings for the save, striking out five. Ben Habuda hit a double and scored one run. Matt Wilson had a base hit and two RBIs.
Salem VFW 12, Struthers St. Anthony 6 -- Rob Jensen combined for a seven-hitter, striking out seven, and Kyle Simms had a double and two RBIs for Salem. Jensen also had two RBIs. For Struthers, Jerry Beeson had two hits, two runs and two RBIs and Jordan Kramer added two hits.
