SIDELIGHTS For all seniors

American Automobile Association/Seniors For Safe Driving, in conjunction with area businesses and organizations, is sponsoring Mature Operators Driver Improvement Programs during June for drivers 55 or older. The classes will be divided into two 31/2-hour sessions. Tuition varies, and class size is limited. Registration for the following class should be made as soon as possible: June 2 and 3 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Punxsutawney Area Hospital, 81 Hillcrest Drive, Punxsutawney, Pa. SCOPE Howland Senior Center, 9273 High St. N.E., Warren, activities are as follows: Wednesday, Silver and Gold lunch and conversation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., lunch is available for $3, and Thursday, bingo blowout from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with luncheon for $5, registration is required. A dinner dance is planned for 6 to 9:30 p.m. June 11. Tickets are $8 in advance or $9 at the door, and reservations are required. Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Tuesday, computer class and oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class and blood-pressure screening at noon and digital graphic club at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10, tai chi at noon, blood-pressure screening at 12:30 p.m. and yoga and 500 card club at 1; Thursday, woodcarvers and TOPS at 9 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, blood-pressure screenings at 10:30 and 1:30 p.m., square dancing at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 3; and Friday, crafts at 12:30 p.m. Help with SBC telephone discount applications is available.
