YOUNGSTOWN -- Bishop Thomas J. Tobin has appointed one priest to a new pastorate and two priests to their first pastorates in the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.
Two new priests will also be ordained.
The Rev. Robert Hannon was named pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Kent, effective July 1. Father Hannon currently serves as pastor of Sts. Philip and James Parish in Canal Fulton.
The Rev. David Misbrener was named to his first pastorate at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Andover and St. Patrick Parish in Kinsman, effective last Wednesday. Father Misbrener's current assignment is assistant pastor at St. Nicholas Parish in Struthers.
The Rev. Joseph Ruggieri's first pastorate is Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Ashtabula, effective Aug. 1. Father Ruggieri has served as assistant pastor at St. Patrick Parish in Kent and St. Joan of Arc Parish in Canton, his current assignment.
The Rev. G. David Weikart, a native of Leetonia, will be ordained to the priesthood at 10:30 a.m. next Saturday by Bishop Tobin at St. Columba Cathedral. The priest earned a bachelor's degree at Kent State University and a master of religious education from Loyola University, New Orleans. He studied at Youngstown State University before completing seminary studies at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa.
The Rev. Martin Celuch will be ordained to the priesthood June 14 in Kosice, Slovakia. A native of Gaboltov, Slovakia, he studied at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in the Slovak Republic before completing studies at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa.
