Fair at mosque
YOUNGSTOWN -- There will be a Fun Fair at the Muslim house of worship Masjid Al-Khair, 1670 Homewood Ave., from noon to 5 p.m. next Saturday. There will be ethnic food, clothing, handicrafts and fine jewelry from many countries for purchase, as well as games and activities. School registration
WARREN -- Registration will be taken for Holy Trinity Orthodox Christian Academy, an elementary school with a modified classical curriculum that enforces Christian morals and ethics and reinforces Christian character. Open registration is from 4-8 p.m. June 2 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Parents should bring children's birth certificates and baptismal records. A $30 application fee is required. Youth program offered
CANFIELD -- Old North Church will sponsor "Junior Jam in July" from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays in July for children age 3 through grade five. Youths will learn about God and creation through activities, crafts, experiments, Bible lessons, guests and more. Call (330) 533-6848.
Memorial Day service
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A community Memorial Day service at 10:50 a.m. Sunday at New Covenant Church will honor all veterans and military families. The service will feature special speakers and music followed by an "All-American Luncheon."
Youth service project
YOUNGSTOWN -- World Changers, an initiative of the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, will bring a group of 175 junior and high school pupils from across the United States to Youngstown for community service projects such as serving meals to the homeless, visiting senior centers, leading sports camps, and fixing up low-income neighborhoods.
The youths will be in Youngstown June 7 to 14. Pupils pay $245, on average, to participate. The youths in Youngstown will also take part in a variety of home-improvement and cleanup tasks. The youths are staying at Reconciliation at Warrior Inc. for the week. The initiative is in partnership with the Steel Valley Baptist Association, Jubilee, and local businesses.
Memorial Day program
AUSTINTOWN -- Austintown Baptist Church will celebrate Memorial Day with a presentation of colors, a salute to the armed services and music. The service at 10:30 a.m. will be followed by a potluck meal.
Memorial Day picnic
WARREN -- Greater St. John's Church of God in Christ will present a Memorial Day observance and picnic from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. The event will also feature free carnival rides, pony rides, games, basketball tournaments and food. The theme is "Youths for Christ."
Anniversaries celebrated
STRUTHERS -- Fellowship Church will celebrate the Rev. Richard E. Kimbrough's first year as pastor and the church's 12th anniversary at 6 p.m. June 23 at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman. Dr. Curtis R. Lewis of Aliquippa, Pa., will be the speaker. The cost is $35. Call (330) 744-5070.

Rededication service
YOUNGSTOWN -- Beulah Temple United Holy Church of America will rededicate its remodeled church at 523 Griffith St. at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Youngstown Police Chief Robert E. Bush will be speaking. The Caffey Brothers Singers of Youngstown will be on the program. Dr. Lawrence E. Freeman, pastor of the church and a chaplain at the Chillicothe Correctional Facility, will introduce the speaker, Robert Hughes, the district elder.
